icebox projects

Several years back I endeavored to start my own design company, not knowing at all what I was doing or where I was going with it.  Advertising to me back then was a large magnetic sign on the side of my Nissan Sentra and swiftly ordering 250 business cards from Vista Print. Needless to say, I had a lot of time on my hands.

Numerous small projects were started but just as quickly got put on hold when things picked up and I got a "real job" that actually brought in some dough. Among those projects that got put in the "icebox" next to the dried shrimp and venison were some super clean, super fresh t-shirt designs.

Today, looking back at my sketches and even some of my print-ready stuff kind of makes me sad, realizing that a few of the concepts I had initially conceived (and thought were groundbreaking-ly unique and awesome) were eventually used in the coming years, not saying at all that the ideas were proprietary or that they were stolen... but, just saying.

My life is quite different now, but I still fancy creating simple, timeless design. I am on the fence between time and money and would hate for the ideas that run through my head right now to be shelved again, its just so hard to stay ahead of the game or even stay with it when you have other irrefutable responsibilities that depend upon the money (those of you that know me personally know exactly what I mean).

At this current second all I can say is "I'm trying and I'm NOT giving up", inspired I am, infinite I am not.
